Shopping and Sourcing Guide with Foods sorted by Macronutrients

It is so important to have a broad variety of food in your diet! You need a good balance of fat, protein, and carbohydrates, and you need variety within those categories.

Different plants have different compounds, vitamins, minerals, etc. If you only eat a few different kinds a week, that really isn't enough variety to support your complex systems.

This guide helps you to plan your meals by defining the roles of each macronutrient, and giving healthful examples of each.

Just as important is how you're sourcing your foods! Eating a cow who eats corn feed, means you get those bare nutrients. Eating grass-fed & finished beef means you're taking in nutrients from an animal who ate their natural diet including the wild plants and bugs. Another bonus to grass-fed & finished (or pasture-raised poultry, wild-caught salmon, etc), is you are likely getting less antibiotics, hormones, and harmful chemicals.
